"An invisible red thread connects those who are destined to meet, regardless of time, place, or circumstance. The thread may stretch or tangle, but it will never break." -- An ancient Chinese belief

"While I slept, my heart kept vigil."

"Today I kissed an angel, I knew it from the start; The first time our eyes met, I gave away my heart.

Today I kissed an angel, This angel child of mine; Though not of my creation, My child by God's design.

Today I kissed an angel, My heart is dancing wild; A family by a miracle, Blessed by this angel child."

Charlotte's first Hallowe'en

Charlotte awoke a little earlier than usual, which surprised mommy, as Charlotte generally sleeps 12 hours from the time you put her in bed. Since Charlotte didn’t go to bed until after 10 pm, mommy thought Charlotte would sleep at least a little later, but she awoke a few minutes earlier than her usual 8 am. Unfortunately, Mommy was a little slow getting herself into gear, as she still has a bit of a stiff neck from Friday.

Charlotte enjoyed playing on the indoor riding toys that she received from her Auntie Dale last night while mommy continued to organize her new craft area in the basement. Mommy got so involved in what she was doing that she lost track of time, so Charlotte went down for her nap later than usual.

After lunch, we went to ToysRUs, picked up a snack from Tim Horton’s, and headed to the waterfront for a walk, as the sun was shining, and it wasn’t that cold—-earlier in the day, it had snowed, but very briefly. Charlotte pointed at the Canadian geese and seagulls as they flew by and made noise. One particular seagull followed us as we walked along, likely waiting for Charlotte to drop some of her tea biscuit. We didn’t get very far along, when the wind got quite cold and we could see rain approaching. To return to our car, we now had to walk into the wind, which now felt even colder. It was nice to get into the van and warm up.

Charlotte continues to be fascinated with the stairs, climbing them every chance she gets. She can get down from the landing, but hasn’t really tried to go down the other stairs, partly because we’re always there to bring her back down before she tries on her own.

Charlotte, dressed in her cutie patootie butterfly costume, really enjoyed seeing all the kids in their costumes, no matter how scary, frequently saying “hi” and giving “high fives.” Charlotte was quite animated in her costume, and was quite content to wander around in the front hallway with mommy and daddy, answering the door to the trick-or-treaters.

Charlotte went to bed on schedule—-she was rubbing her eyes and was quite cheerful to say “night night” to mommy and daddy, giving lots of kisses. Mommy’s hoping that Charlotte doesn’t have any bad dreams tonight.

  1. These are adorable. I especially love the one at the foot of the stairs!
